Children SWIMMING LESSONS

We are passionate about swimming and making sure that all the children who come through us are safe and confident in the aquatic environment. The last lesson of the summer term is always dedicated to personal survival and lifesaving.

We operate within St Michael’s term times

St Michael’s Swimming Pool, Colehill

The pool is our widest and is 18m long, being 1.45m at the deep end. This is the St Michael’s school pool and is very user friendly, having a large viewing gallery behind glass for parents, which is nice and cool!

The address is Colehill Lane, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 7AB.

The Viewing Gallery

We believe that parents should be able to watch over their children while they swim. That’s why our viewing gallery is behind glass and provides them the opportunity, so you can relax knowing your little one will stay safe with us!

Group Lessons / 1:1 / 1:2

Tuesdays 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Fridays 4:00pm – 6:30pm

Children start swimming with us from a very early age and we are able to take them into our group lessons after school and at the weekends from the age of 4.

In our beginner lessons children are in small groups and the teacher is always in the water with them. In our strong beginners there is also an assistant. Later on children are swimming lengths with the teacher poolside but there is always an assistant available to help work through certain things, like nerves, when needed.

  • £8.50 + VAT (1:5 with teacher and assistant)
  • £9.95 + VAT (1:3 with a teacher in the water)

All payable half termly via BACS.

Junior SwimFit

Wednesdays 7.15pm – 8.00pm

It is aimed at the most proficient swimmers, capable at all strokes with a minimum of 400m+ badges.

The 45min session, coached by myself, is not like a standard swimming lesson. It is aimed at children who have come to the end of their swimming lessons and who perhaps don’t want to take the step to join a competitive club but still love to swim for fitness and improvement.

Admission is based on ability rather than age as such however children need to have the stamina to complete an approx 1.5k swim in 45 mins.

We work on stamina and stroke technique here.

Private 1:1 Lessons

1:1 Lessons are £23.50+VAT for 30 minute session, 45 minutes for £31.25+VAT, 60 minutes is £41.70+VAT

We are very used to children with different anxieties and perhaps past poor experiences relating to swimming.

We do our very best to turn this around and make swimming an enjoyable time. We are keen to push the awareness of swimming as a life skill and not just an after school club for children to join. All our children progress through the levels of the STA ILSP getting an award each term. Children may start with us as non swimmers, or anywhere along their swimming journey but they may carry on to achieve their 2000m badges along with advanced life saving skills.

At the end of lessons our children may go on to join our Swimfit or lifesaving programs, they frequently go on to join specialist swimming clubs but lots of times they leave with lots of badges and just being confident and safe swimmers. We have links with all local swimming clubs, so please get in touch if you’d like to know more.
